Missing file backup support for files named

Hello support We are in progress of choosing backup software and stumbled over your guys software named Syncrify. We have following setup: Syncrify backup server: windows 2003 STD - 32 bit Syncrify client client to backup: centos 5.8 - 32 bit during backup the client backup console gave us these error messages: srvdot\home\xymon\data\histlogs\srvdot_witzel-vikar_dk\procs\Tue_Dec_27_12:20:19_2011 (The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect) The above files generated from xymon network monitor and named like this "Tue_Dec_27_12:20:19_2011" There is no file exstendtion here like *.txt. Inside the file that can not be backup is following: -------------------------------------------------- green Tue Sep 18 12:21:04 2012: OK &green http://www.witzelvikar.dk/ - OK HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Tue, 18 Sep 2012 10:21:04 GMT Server: Apache/2.2.20 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.20 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 DAV/2 mod_auth_kerb/5.3 PHP/5.2.17 mod_fcgid/2.3.6 Last-Modified: Thu, 03 Jun 2010 16:01:33 GMT ETag: "7142d5d-23f-48822520797ee" Accept-Ranges: bytes Content-Length: 575 Connection: close Content-Type: text/html Seconds: 0.04 Status unchanged in 0.00 minutes Message received from 192.168.1.25 Client data ID 1343988251 ---------------------------------------------- Those files are not in use when backup software comes by. My thoughts about it is that there is not backup support for files named: ex.: some_name_file_19_12:34:40_2012 - charactors like ":" If you guys want any files to check yourself og anymore info please let med know, you have the mail. We really wanna use this software in the future but we need it to support all kind those different file namings like meantion above. Thanks in advance /Jesper

Missing file backup support for files named

Jesper, I see you are copying files from Linux to Windows. Files names on Windows are more restrictive than Linux. Windows won't allow a colon character in file names. If you have a file on Linux, with colon in it, you are better off running Syncrify on Linux instead of Windows. Regards, Synametrics Support

Missing file backup support for files named

Once again scrambeled file names were of huge help and a feature that solved such issues as well as increased privacy of the user. Regards, Frank
