Syncrify: Sessions suddenly hanging and getting concurrent sessions for same user

I've been using Syncrify for awhile now and just recently started noticing stuck sessions. Normally they say something like:

Sending action results to client. 1 of 11 sent.

Then never change despite not having progressed for hours based on Last Activity time stamp.  Normally these are scheduled backups & in fact sometimes I'm seeing concurrent overlapping sessions for the same user which seems like a bad thing to have happen.  In fact I have 2 stuck right now with the 1st at 20% and 2nd at 60% but the other says:

Message

Preparing to send action results back to client. Total files: 0

Neither are progressing & I believe hang forver unless I terminate sessions. Since that client is scheduled to run every 180 minutes it won't be long I there should be 3 concurrent sessions.

So what is best way to debug & resolve this? This is a new problem or at least I never noticed it until this week. What changed here? Well I installed the latest syncrify client at 1 location & all the others still run the old one. This particular location is running the old "classic" one and has been without issue for months.  I also recently (about month ago) replaced Draytek router with pfsense router because the old one was failing. Perhaps pfsense is closing "stale" IP sessions too soon or something? But if that was the case why wouldn't the session at least timeout & retry? And I can't imagine another location running newer client would make a difference to an existing client but that seems like very odd coincidence of timing..

Normally these are scheduled backups so no way to see the status but I did have it happen at least once running manual backup & I thought i had saved a screenshot but can't find it now. As I recall client side was waiting as well. I think it was waiting for results. Sorry not that helpful but that's what I have. lol

Btw I have not upgraded the server side yet. It's still running a prior yet recent version: 
Version: 4.0 - build 915

While I can upgrade the server supposedly it's not required at this point.

Ps. Both of the above sessions are still stuck at that same spot. No change in Message or percentage or last actiivty despite being 2 hours for one & 1 hour for the other.
PPs. No idea why but I keep getting session expired trying to use Chrome to access this forum. Very annoying to lose what has been typed.

It is very likely Syncrify has encountered a large file is trying to match blocks. One thing you can do on both ends (Server and Client) is to peek inside a running job to see what is it doing using "telnet". Check http://web.synametrics.com/SyncrifyTelnet.htm for details.

I have the same problem as the original poster. How can we prevent multiple concurrent jobs on the same client machine? As it stands, backups are unrealiable.

Syncrify has a built-in mechanism to prevent the same profile from running simultaneously. This is done by creating a *.lock file. I recommend you contact our support department via email to see what is causing this.
