Google or Microsoft authenticator for 2FA on Syncrify
Paul,
2FA makes sense when humans have to enter user id/passwords. Since backups in Syncrify run in the background, 2FA is not very practical.
We can certainly add 2FA when a user tries to log in using the web browser. Actually, some one else asked for the same feature a few days ago and therefore, you will definitely see it in a future release.
We would also like to see Google/Microsoft/Authy 2FA or E-Mail 2FA enabled for users for security purposes. This would greatly reduce the chance of a data breach via social engineering. Thank you! You guys are awesome
Specifically, 2FA should be required for the Admin user, even if the backup users aren't. Deleting backups is a common ransomware threat and blocking the admin login via 2FA would be an important step in protecting against this scenario.
