Updating Syncrify
Updating Syncrify
We recommend you always use the latest version of Syncrify Server as well as Client. The following steps demonstrate how to check if an upgrade is available and how to apply it.
Steps to Update the Server
- Connect to Syncrify Server's web interface as admin
- Click the Check for Updates under the Quick Links section on the right hand side.
- If an update is available, you will be presented with a link to download it
- Once the download is complete, click the Restart button. This will restart Syncrify in the background.
- Try connecting back to Syncrify after some time. IMPORTANT: Do NOT hit refresh on the browser. This may send a restart request back to the server. Try typing the URL again.
When restarting the Server after downloading the install files, be sure to restart the Server via Syncrify's Web Interface. Do not restart the server from your OS Services menu.
Steps to Update the Client
Syncrify Client gets updated automatically when the server is upgraded, provided you are using the Service-Based Client. Click here for more information. Otherwise, see the following steps:
- Open up a web browser and connect to Syncrify Server from the client machine
- Click Download Client under Quick Links on the home page
If you are running Syncrify version 3.0 or above, you can click the Backup Client Update icon to check for new versions.
